Description
PORCELAIN BLOOM — INNA PUPINA
White petals, soft colour and a moment of stillness.
In Porcelain Bloom, Latvian artist Inna Pupina creates a floral composition whose presence emerges through delicate contrasts. Two open white flowers float within an atmospheric setting of pale blue, ivory, blush pink and muted sage.
Created in 2023, this unique original painting is entirely hand-painted in acrylic on 100% cotton canvas. Its intimate vertical format measures 40 cm high × 30 cm wide, with a depth of 3 cm.
THE RHYTHM OF A BLOOM
A large blossom occupies the upper part of the canvas, its broad petals extending toward the edges. Below, a smaller flower offers a visual echo. Their dark centres and scattered dots bring fine detail into a composition shaped by flowing brushwork.
Slender stems connect these open forms to the lower passages. A bowed bud, outlined in warm ochre, introduces a quieter gesture and a subtle change of colour.
The background remains open and softly layered. Pale tones meet the petals through gentle transitions, allowing the flowers to feel both distinct and connected to their surroundings.
A PORCELAIN-LIKE LUMINOSITY
The title evokes delicacy through the whiteness and softness of the blossoms. Visible brushwork and the cotton weave give the surface a tactile presence, encouraging a close encounter with the painted details.
From a distance, the work offers a clear floral rhythm. Seen closely, small changes in contour, colour and texture reveal the artist's hand. Porcelain Bloom brings together visual calm and attentive observation.

Presentation
Inna Pupina is a contemporary painter whose practice centres on the emotional life of landscape. Working exclusively in acrylic on canvas, she develops compositions that move beyond topographical description toward atmosphere, sensation and inner experience.
Her signature approach combines expressive layering, refined colour harmonies and a sustained attention to light — particularly the luminous, shifting quality of Nordic and Eastern European natural environments. Forests, water and sky recur throughout her work not as subjects to be recorded, but as vehicles for contemplating stillness, time and the passage between states.
Pupina's paintings are characterised by their chromatic depth: violets, blues and greens are built through successive transparent glazes, generating a sense of visual resonance that photographs rarely capture in full. The surface holds both spontaneity and control — gestural passages sit alongside areas of quiet precision, creating compositions that reward sustained looking.
Represented by Abstract Art Gallery since 2013, Inna Pupina's original works are held in private collections across Europe. Her paintings are appreciated for their capacity to transform a domestic or professional interior into a space of contemplation — present without being intrusive, decorative without being passive.
She exhibits internationally and continues to develop her practice from her studio in Riga, Latvia.
