Oriental Painting for Sale
The West's interest in the Eastern world and the search for exoticism began in the 18th century. Many artists, such as Eugène Delacroix, Jean-Auguste Dominique Ingres and Vassily Kandinsky, have been inspired by this universe to create their works. These artists made us travel thanks to the warm colours of their works and the many characteristics of the Eastern world. Artists did not hesitate to travel in order to represent the Oriental world as faithfully as possible. Religion, politics, scenes of life, architecture, writing, artistic traditions or eroticism (with the representation of harems) are characteristically represented in oriental paintings. Nowadays, art from Eastern countries is spreading beyond borders. With their creativity and artistic power, the artists amaze us with an art that combines tradition and modernity. Â
