Gardien d’Ébène N21 Sculpture Laiton et Bronze, 2026

Stéphane Szendy

This sculpture by Szendy Stéphane stands out as a contemporary totem. The bronze here combines with a geometric rigor. Its vertical structure guides the eye towards an oval summit with a black patina. A golden line cleaves this shape in two, creating a sharp contrast.
The body is composed of varied textures. Vertical grooves bring a linear rhythm to the center of the piece. Two thin arcs rise from each side, like stylized arms.
The balance rests on a massive cylindrical base. A curve connects the base to the upper part, ensuring the fluidity of the whole. The work of the patinas emphasizes the precision of the gesture. The play between smooth surfaces and worked areas brings visual depth.
Each detail testifies to a technical mastery close to that of jewelry making. The whole evokes a timeless trophy, between abstraction and natural inspiration. The silhouette stretches with a sober elegance. The object ends with a dark and stable base.
