Located 40 km east of Paris, in the heart of Brie in a green setting bordered by the Grand Morin, Crécy la Chapelle, nicknamed the Briarde Venice for the beauty of the canals that run through it, has managed to preserve its charm and its authenticity of yesteryearTraditionally frequented by many painters since the 18th century, immortalized by Camille Corot, Paul Désiré Trouillebert, Paul Huet, Alexandre Véron, Altmann, or even Georges Pacouil and André Dunoyer de Segonzac... Crécy-la-Chapelle inspires always a large number of artists.
It is in this privileged environment that the Galerie de Crécy was born in 1969 from the common passion for antiquities of Martine and Daniel Mazet. From the first years, the Galerie de Crécy presents in the same set, antique furniture, works of art and paintings from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. In 1972, for the sake of quality and service, the Gallery set up its own antique furniture restoration workshop. From 1982, the first floor was devoted to group or personal exhibitions of contemporary figurative artists.
At the rate of six to seven exhibitions per year, and a major end-of-year exhibition bringing together all the painters, the Gallery thus provides its artists with regular follow-up and promotion. For nearly twenty years and without ever forgetting its vocation as an antique dealer, the Galerie de Crécy has never ceased to organize, around great masters (Jean Commère, André Dunoyer de Segonzac, Camille Claudel, Auguste Rodin, Jean Commère, Paul Huet , Yves Brayer, Lucien Fontanarosa...) or themes of exhibitions in the desire to renew and create the event.
