Anany creates stone!
Born on 14th October 1965 in Uccle (Brussels), presently she lives in France, on the outskirts of Provence.
A well-trained self-taught artist: as a child born in an artists' family, she used to draw and paint... then she attended a Brussels art school till she was 17.
10 years later, an encounter came as a shock in her creative life: that of Madeleine Haupert who attended the Beaux Arts school in Paris and was now an art teacher. The very person who became friends with Nicolas de Staël and made him discover abstract painting, and who was followed by her pupil Marie Latheur, who graduated at Cambre.
Making her way between lyrical abstraction and Indian ink.
In early 2006 in Brussels and as from 2008 when Anany settled in county Ardèche, the magnificent colours of the south came as a revelation.
About thirty exhibitions or artistic events are as many milestones in her progress: from New York City to Deauville, Brussels and Paris as well as in the four counties which surround her workshop, at the confluence of rivers Ardèche and Rhône.
Influenced by the magnificent scenery of that area, Anany is an artist who will let colours pervade her life and guide her creations.
She takes a benevolent look at men, the world, or even the universe.
Her dream goes further than legends, and that is why Anany works on stone: this medium on which men will leave their memories, their engravings, their fingerprints.
Nothing comes between space and her, and by means of her spheres Anany tells everyone of us that we are part and parcel of the same cosmos.
In her works she will gather divine dust and crystallize matter which thus becomes “Colour in Stone".
A concentrate of light in a piece of stone becomes a dazzling fresco where spirituality gets connected with our earth as well as with the cosmos.
Anany looks up to a starry sky, her creation then appears as an element of the Big Bang, a mixture of mineral particles looking like gems.
On a billion-mile trip which goes back long before the earth came into being, long long before our epoch, traces of our times will gather in the genesis of her creations.
The extraordinary will be revealed: it is a work of restoration of matter.
