The series racines was produced at the Fileuse in Reims in September 2024. It first refers to the very place of the Fileuse, Orgeval, it is the neighborhood where I grew up, and where I had a passion for drawing when I was about ten years old.

This production is the reflection of a reflection about my illness, the Long Covid that I contracted in January 2022.

My painting is an inner movement, a fight against the immobility of my illness.

My series racines has a double meaning, first of all that of the place where it was produced, at the Fileuse in Reims. It is not a return to the roots, identity, but to our humanity. I paint the movement that captures the essence of ourselves, freed from the weight of social conventions. A movement suspended in space and time.

A movement that has a beginning, a middle and an end. A movement painted on the canvas like a bandage on imperfect skin, with these small defects, which time has left scars on. My painting is a primal movement, a vital impulse, a first step that symbolically allows me to destroy all immobility.

It is a movement that goes from left to right, a reference to Arabic writing, a movement that takes our senses against the current.

I use matter to celebrate antimatter. Because we are also antimatter
