Biography
Delphine Boël is a Belgian artist born on February 22, 1968 in Uccle, Belgium. She holds a bachelor's degree in visual arts from the Chelsea School of Art and Design in London. Although having spent most of her time in the UK, she currently resides and works in Brussels. Year after year, Delphine Boël has created a reputation as a nonconformist artist within the European artistic community. Seeking to convey a simple and clear message, she creates multimedia works of art, full of colors, textures, life and humor and tackles universal themes. From paintings to neon lamps, including plates and papier-mâché sculptures, his art always seems alive and resolutely relaxed. Delphine Boël describes her artistic work as an epidermal reaction to the banality of everyday life and its share of gossip, rumors and insignificant news. It is thus distinguished by its very explicit choice of words and language to unveil a raw message whose palette of colors expressed on each work invites caprice, irony and the joy of living. The works of Delphine Boël have already been admired in numerous permanent or temporary exhibitions all over the world, notably in the United States, South Korea, the United Kingdom, France, Luxembourg, Sweden and Morocco. In 2003, she also participated in the Venice Biennale for ABSOLUT.
