Biography

Jean Milo is a Belgian artist born in 1906.

He was close to the Young Belgian Painting movement between 1946 and 1949 and in 1952 he founded the Art Abstrait (Abstract Art) group with Jo Delahaut.

After a trip to the Congo in 1953, he had several shows in Paris, at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles (Salon of the New Realities), between 1956 and 1963. He was painting and was producing watercolors, collages (he was a co-founder of Coll'art with Marcel-Louis Baugniet in 1971) and drawings. But most of all, Jean Milo was an abstract impressionist artist who was sensitive to atmospheric changes, to seasons and to the musical fluidity of the great Mozart operas.
