Presentation

I was born on January 31, 1965 in Halle, Belgium. I grew up in a very modest environment in Tubize, one of Belgium's steel basins. My childhood and adolescence were bathed in an atmosphere of factory and paternal violence linked to alcoholism. It is the fourth cultural world.

At the age of 6, one of my uncles introduced me to drawing. My first steps consisted of enlarging comic book images using the method of squares. Constantly reclusive in my room, I very quickly became interested in music and cinema, architecture and furniture, art, photography and nature, everything that has to do with aesthetics. My room gradually becomes my laboratory, my studio.

My adolescence was very difficult. Social interactions are complicated. I regularly change schools and have been out of school several times. My father's alcohol-related aggression is extreme. I will make several suicide attempts followed by hospitalizations during my adolescence following the mistreatment I suffered daily.

In 1984, I enrolled against my parents' will in a school of visual arts at the Sainte-Marie Institute in Saint-Gilles (Brussels) I finally feel on my way.

At the beginning of 1987, I left the family home in a very deteriorated state of health, notably with an "ASD" and comorbidities. My "Autism Spectrum Disorder" is a form of autism without intellectual disability that causes difficulties in social interactions and the presence of restricted interests.

At the end of my artistic secondary studies, I wanted to go to university to study design or architecture, it was architecture that I chose. In 1988 I began studying architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture of La Cambre in Brussels and obtained my degree in architecture in 1993.

Between 1994 and 2003 I worked as a collaborator in various architectural offices in Brussels in very varied fields Housing, Offices, Hospitals, rest homes, Urbanism, site monitoring, project design, Design, computer-generated imagery, 3D, Project presentations, etc...

Around 2003, in full creation of a professional activity in the field of computer graphics of architecture and gardening, my state of health collapsed and a burnout with attacks of extreme physical and psychic pain pushed me into incapacity total to work. In a few months a severe fibromyalgia appeared and completely immobilized me for 10 years.

At the beginning of 2015, my state of health improved I stop the morphine and I go back to working on my research in the field of digital image. I then explore different image processing software in order to find my tools. The theme of the landscape will naturally impose itself.

Technical:

My current work consists of superimposing digital photographs based on flowers and landscapes that I take during photo walks Much of the flower photos are from my garden.

Artistic influences:

I love the painter Monet and especially his garden I also like the representation of the landscape in Van Gogh, as well as those of Mondrian (period before abstraction), those of Félix Vallotton, Renoir, Egon Schiele or Berthe-Morisot, Beksinski and many others...

Genesis:

In the early 2000s, in one of my night dreams, I was flying high on a mountain where I had a view of an incredible landscape. A dream of the world like Monet's garden . It is this idea that is at the base of my work...
