Biography
Marcus Vinicius d'Andrea Coelho, famous under his alias Revolue, is a Brazilian painter, born in Sao Paulo in 1987. His artist name derived from the words Revolution and Evolution. He has had a passion for art since his childhood and discovered urban art during his teenage years, he is a self-taught artist. Curious by nature, Revolue constantly is on the look for an artistic approach, exploring several universes and techniques. He lives and works in Sao Paulo.
Revolue is inspired by São Paulo due to his love for this city and depicts human body language. His work tries to magnify the "repulsive": waste, filth..He wanders in the Brazilian streets and observes individuals, their body language, faces, looks, their way of communicating with hands...The street culture is highlighted in his urban creations. The city is filled with human souls with all kinds of people who may be finished or unfinished, disturbed by the idea that they don't know themselves and only come into being due to their social status.
Revolue paints with his own crayons, made by him and then mixed with oil. His colors are therefore a long well-thought out creation process: he doesn't leave anything to chance.
In 2008 the artist went to London for a year and lived with around forty artists and designers for a unique artistic experience.
Revolue regularly exhibits his work in Sao Paulo. He also participated in exhibitions in USA, South Korea and Netherlands.
