Biography
Sylvia Martins is a painter who was born in Brazil. She has a degree in visual communication from the University of Rio de Janeiro. In 1979, she moved to New York to study at the School of Visual Arts. Since then, she has been living between New York and Rio.
The artist's works are influenced by her trips, ethnic and ritual motifs, and anthropology. Recently, her artistic research is oriented to digital photography, with which she plays with images and colors.
Sylvia Martins' work has been praised by private and public collectors in Latin America, Europe, Asia and the United States.
