Luc Am Pierre

In 2015, after 25 years working in graphic design, the artist resumed the exploratory work he had begun as a student at the École des Beaux-Arts.

Luc Am Pierre's work is the result of a repetitive process of composition and deconstruction. The starting point is an intuitive and spontaneous practice of drawing, which he cuts and tears to compose his works.

Our interpretation of his work reveals what our unconscious has to tell us. The work speaks to us and opens up unexplored avenues. The titles of the works are only possible entry points.

The artist's language is the deformation or reinterpretation of reality, opening up the field of possibilities, questioning and liberating us. His work allows us to see and perceive things from unexpected, irrational angles. 

It's a pleasure to explore his rhythmic musical compositions, to be carried away by the song of colors and to be surprised by imbalances. When you stand in front of a Luc Am Pierre collage, there always seems to be a before and an after, and the impression of movement and impermanence is omnipresent, an invitation to the unknown.
