Biography

Jean Jacques BOURDEL was a painter and honorary art professor born in Paris in 1930 and passed away in 2004. He obtained an advanced diploma in visual arts from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He became a drawing and visual arts teacher for the City of Paris in 1953, a certified teacher in 1957, and a teacher for the French Ministry of Education in 1970. He was a member of the Société des Artistes Français and served on the Committee of the French Artists from 1987 to 1996. Bourdel was a figurative painter and colorist of the Paris School, as well as an engraver, illustrator, draftsman, and portraitist. He was awarded the title of Chevalier des Palmes Académiques. Many of his works can be found in Parisian salons.
