Laurent Chaouat-Jung , born in 1964, lives and works in the Paris region.
After studying applied arts and a period of apprenticeship in the studio of Zwy Milshtein, French painter of Romanian origin, he begins to show his work in 1990. He also teaches School of Visual Arts in Châtellerault.
Laurent Chaouat-Jung's favorite theme is white. He reproduces an invisible presence and outlines the shapes, all these gestures centering around white. With the help of figurative elements and layers, he evokes in a fragmented and understated style, the human figure and body.
