Benoît Moreau

France

Biography

Benito is the anagram of Benoît (Moreau) it is the artist name of this painter who found his favorite language through painting and drawing. Entirely self-taught, he walks between singular expressionism and the evocative power of forms of a common culture. Through his art as a colorist, the painter mixes raw figures with the freshness of color in order to bring his personal narrative to a world of collective heritage. The references are there, many and varied from the oldest (African art, cave art) to the most modern and graphic (Keith Harring, Basquiat ...) through surrealism and poetry (CoBrA movement). No one is devoid of influence. It is a modern language which uses the history of art from the parietal wall until today to give this painting this singular universe. It's a motionless journey, you have to look and let yourself be transported in the midst of these characters who float as if in weightlessness.
