Biography
Philippe Morisson is a painter, author of collages and engraver (lithographer and etcher) abstract geometric born in Deauville in 1924.
Beginning to paint in 1940, Philippe Morisson was figurative until 1945. He went through a short period of lyrical abstraction before moving towards geometry in 1947. In this spirit, the compositions he hung at the Salon des Surindépendants in the 1950s suggested a constructivist rigor - which he would not depart from - which brings him closer to the group of artists from the Denise René Gallery (such as Yaacov Agam or Jean Tinguely) where he exhibited in 1961 with Geneviève Claisse and Hugo Demarco.
