Biography
Marc Barani was born in Menton in 1957, he is a French architect. He studied architecture at the National Superior School of Architecture of Marseille. Later on, he obtained a degree in scenography at the Villa Arson and completed his studies in anthropology, studies that led him to live a year in Nepal. Once back in France, he founded his agency and settled in Nice.
He received many public commissions: he was in charge of the extension of the Saint-Pancrace cementery, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, followed by the restoration of the Le Corbusier architect cabin. He also did numerous architectural works, bridges, corporate foundations, the congress palace, among others.
His work as an architect was rewarded in 2008 with the Equerre d'argent prize for his construction of the multimodal center of the tramway in Nice and in 2013, he received the Grand National Prize of architecture.
In parallel to his activity as an architect, Marc Barani also created pieces of art, particularly collections of monotypes.
