Kévin Guelle

Caen and very steeped in Norman culture in his creations, Kevin Guelle is a little nugget from the cider and Vikings terroir!

From his earliest childhood, he navigated between artistic creations of oil seascapes proposed by his grandfather and abstract impregnation and portrait painter in mixed media of his mother. In this, he learned at a very young age how to work on a painting made with a knife and oil, of which he kept some traces in the textures and the pigmentary richness of his creations.

On the other, he learns the roundabout use of tools, techniques and pigments that allow him to interweave the precepts of classical art through a contemporary perspective. This is precisely where his whole creation is located, a mixture of realism and classic subjects where anachronistic and modern touches are added.

In this way, Kevin pays homage and highlights the Viking culture with which his region is strongly marked, incorporating a modern outlook.

More than a highlighting of a culture, it is a question of proposing works whose artistic power is to reappropriate the contemporaneity by an eye client of what constitutes us today: a perpetual evolution marked by roots.
