Biography

I have followed Anne Michaud's work for many years. From its "bags", its beds, its tubes, its rags ... in short, from its little things emanates a vital energy. Beyond this evidence, the artist creates a space for reflection that brings into play the story of each spectator.

His series of "chicken cages" in 2015 spoke to us about the emotions of mothers, evoked the fabrics and pleats of Madonnas, and gave life to his own mother and her human qualities.

Anne Michaud's favorite themes, far from the academic "beautiful" (thereby immersing her in the modernity of contemporary art) rehabilitate everyday and banal objects, suggesting a humanity that is nevertheless figuratively absent from her painting.

Since 2017, Anne Michaud has been working on used sheets letting the humanity who lived there float in the folds.
