Pilar Saltini's work proceeds from the observation of individual and collective memory. The artist induces on the memories of the moments and the images which constitute the pieces of evidence of the artwork. She draws then prints monotypes and her paintings are never the reproduction of her prints.
From one stage to another, she conceives her works as hypotheses.
Her very evocative style and her dreamlike world implies; with a great mastery of drawing, a quest for delight. The figures, sceneries and objects in her paintings and monotypes are the fruit of an imaginary universe that evokes the surrounding reality, in fragments of a time divided into sequences.
Born in Milan in 1971, Pilar Saltini began her artistic training in 1999, assistant to the painter Valerio Adami after having graduated in painting at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris.
Her work has received various awards in France and England, and she has pursued an international career (Venice Biennale 2011) for twenty years.
