Paulina Okurowska

Arriving from Poland in 1996, Paulina passed through Paris where she studied Applied Arts at the Olivier de Serres school and aesthetics at the Sorbonne. Living in Brittany for several years, she is interested in slate, an inseparable particle of the Breton landscape which over time will be at the center of her plastic research.

The slate plate protects and experiences the elements that paint the passage of time on its skin. Cut, bitten, engraved, assembled, the slate reveals all its beauty and the artist sublimates it by playing on the shadow and the light which changes according to our position in space. The collection presented is made up of urban or seascapes which it highlights by sometimes adding a few touches of brass leaves.

Paulina Okurowska now lives and works near Malestroit in Brittany.
