Sergio Gómez belongs to that trend of contemporary artists more interested in contradiction, in asking questions than in providing answers.
From the subtle combination of recognizable elements with other purely abstract ones, they appear as cynical dissidents of the form that process a discourse based on failure/success/correction, almost in a Gödelian sense, from incompleteness. Unusual pilgrims who embrace imperfection as a hallmark, questioning -questioning- the finished/unfinished diad of the work of art and establish impermanence as a necessary condition of existence, as well as of the pictorial act.
