Biography
Gemma grew up and studied in Spain. His painter mother certainly influenced him in his choice of studying at the Fine Arts. Gemma will exercise several trades before devoting herself completely to her passion. She began by exhibiting in bars and restaurants in the Catalan capital before leaving her city and joining the island of Mallorca in the Balearics. His work is done mainly on paper, working in acrylic and pasting in places elements cut from magazines and newspapers. Gemma counts a few artists among her influencers such as René Magritte, Carme Solé Vendrell and Ana Juan. Surrealism is an integral part of his paintings, the absurd is also sometimes invited. The artist has a cheerful style inspired by everyday life and the images that surround it. Poetry, humor and escape are the expressions that emerge from Gemma's paintings. Its characters are recognizable thanks to their tender and mischievous features, their almond-shaped eyes, their red cheekbones and their long noses.
