Biography
Pongsak is unique in his vision and technique. His works often omit major features, such as birds, branches or insects, yet their omission is what makes them visible.
These forest or woodland landscapes are his most well known works and they depict his, or perhaps more correctly, a tropical Asian ideal of what a forest should be. In many ways, these works are also dreamworlds. The idea as captured in a dream.
There are butterflies, insects, birds and branches omitted from the canvas by not being painted in their natural state, yet Pongsak captures them within unpainted (by using colours) white areas.
