Biography
Born in 1980, Alessandro Keegan is an American visual artist. He received his MFA in painting and drawing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a MA in art history from Brooklyn College.
His work, which consists primarily of oil paintings and colored drawings, is characterized by geometric shapes and a playful color palette producing surreal, mystical compositions.
Keegan's works have been showcased internationally including exhibitions in New York, Hong Kong, London, Barcelona and the Hague.
In 2020, the documentary film “The Matter of Mind" which focused on Keegan's practice, was released. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Keegan is a writer and art history professor.
