Biography
Will Eisner was an American cartoonist, screenwriter, and publisher, considered one of the pioneers of comics and graphic novels. He is best known for (1940–1952), an innovative series that mixed crime and adventure fiction, as well as for his theoretical work on the medium, including (1985). In the 1970s, he popularized the term "graphic novel" with (1978). His influence was immense, and in his honor, the prestigious comics awards bear his name.
