Biography
Alex Paulus is an American artist from Missouri, living and working in Memphis since 2007. Graduated from Memphis College of Art in 2009, he is now Assistant Professor of Art History at Southwest Tennessee Community College.
Alex Paulus is interested in the purpose of human existence and all of our more or less questionable choices that we make for no reason. Thus he portrays characters in precarious situations or even beyond, sometimes they are celebrities, imaginary characters or himself and he lets us glimpse how they might react to the situation portrayed.
This figurative and satirical artist is represented in the United States and in Europe. His work has also been published in many American art journals.
