Hervé Fayolle was born on October 20, 1948 in Marseille, France. He took an early interest in painting and art in general, secondary studies and entered the fine arts of Marseille-Luminy in 1968. First personal and group exhibitions from 1969. High school teacher in Applied Art from from 1972.
From 1979, he used the airbrush technique after seeing the work of the Swiss painter HR. Giger and works on very large formats. The 90s marked a turning point in his work, he produced the first series of vertical wooden structures taking up the idea of the triptych, like painting objects.
From 2010 to 2013 his research focused on the square format, complex geometric shapes overlap and interpenetrate. A multitude of small drawings, lines, curves, spaces come around and separate the objects according to the structure of the forms, like integrated circuits. The colors most often in harmonies of yellow, orange, green give a stained glass effect to these drawings.
From 2013, he worked on large, very colorful acrylic wall formats with an expressionist tendency with bright colors and very disturbed spaces. Hervé Fayolle seeks to communicate through his works a message from the most spiritualist to the most societal. Various narrations or symbols, allegorical, metaphorical, analytical. Investment by Hervé Fayolle in his work, fantasies of all kinds, whether sexual, social, religious, or any other, as long as they are formally mastered.
Importance of the "line" for the drawing, importance of the lines which structure the colored fields or of the drawings they contain (Adami, Aki Kuroda.) With their intrinsic symbolic strengths and their structuring.
Since 1969, he has participated in numerous group and personal exhibitions in France, the USA and abroad.
