Long has built a distinguished reputation as a portraitist and figurative painter, with his work frequently featured in prestigious exhibitions such as the BP Portrait Award and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. He was notably awarded the coveted de Laszlo Award for his portrait of his father, Walter Long.
While known for his evocative figure compositions depicting people in everyday settings like cafés and on the street, Long is a versatile painter, equally proficient in still life and landscape.
