Dariusz Klimczak, On the nest
Poland  • 1967  - 2023

Presentation

Darius Klimczak (1967-2023) was a multi-disciplined Polish artist who was born, lived and worked in the Polish City of Sieradz. He graduated from the Zduńska Wola School of Fine Arts in 1989. In an artistic career spanning over three decades Dariusz was a freelance journalist, painter, rock and roll drummer and chairman of the FOTOSIS association. As a photographic artist he created over 2000 captivating photo-montages in his own distinctive visionary style.

His brilliant work is characterized by its powerful & painterly depictions of animal and human figures in visionary landscapes. It has been the subject of over twenty solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad and is published globally in countless magazine articles and interviews.

-------------------

Dariusz Klimczak (born 1967 in Sieradz, died September 15, 2023 in Sieradz). He had been photographing for over 30 years, creating photomontages based on his own photos. In his works, he based himself on symbols and archetypes, and the aim of his work was to make the viewer reflect or smile. The author's private ambition was to create a visual Esperanto. He was a supporter of black and white squares, but he also did not shy away from color.

Author of over 20 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Producer and composer of three albums of his music project Climax Indigo. Author of two volumes of aphorisms (Aforyzjaki, Klocki ego), winner of the Grand Prix of the Stanisław Jerzy Lec aphorism competition (Nowy Targ, 2005). Former painter, journalist, drummer in a rock band. Father of two daughters.

Dariusz Klimczak's surrealist photography is compelling and thought-provoking, offering a feast for the senses. His photo-manipulative works showcase exquisite elements of nature, be it landscapes and animals, often harmonizing with universal symbols or standard household objects like an alarm clock or hair comb. Though his photographs are predominantly black and white, Dariusz doesn't shun colour and sometimes employs a natural palette of earthy tones, as well as reds, greens and blues.

As a noted photographer with over 30 years experience whose works have garnered attention worldwide, Klimczak's impressive repertoire extends much further—he is also an independent journalist, painter, former chairman of the FOTOSIS association, and winner of the seventh edition of the reputed Aphoristic competition in Poland.

Currently based in Sieradz, Poland, he continues to conceptualize and create striking photography that stirs the senses and creates strong focal points in spaces.

The funeral will begin at 3:00 PM at the family grave in the old cemetery in Sieradz (the funeral procession will set off from in front of the church).

Dariusz Klimczak was born in Sieradz in 1967. He graduated from the Zduńska Wola Fine Arts School. He was involved in photography for over 30 years, focusing on photomontages, which he created based on his own photos. He was the author of over 2,000 works and numerous publications in photography magazines. His photos were shown at exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He also created album covers and composed music himself. In September of this year, he was named the photographer of the month of the "Szeroki kadr" portal.
