This unique work transforms a tennis racket into a work of art.
The black frame contrasts sharply with the crochet mesh mosaic dominated by yellow, lavender, and white tones. This juxtaposition of colors creates a striking visual harmony.
By transforming a functional sporting object into a colorful and ornamental piece of art, the artist challenges the boundaries between art, sport and everyday life.
Witnessing an innovative perspective, this piece illustrates the dialogue between tradition and modernity, making the ordinary extraordinary.

Presentation
Sophie Inard is a French artist based in Paris.
Her work explores the intersections of gender, power, and identity, playing with the tensions between softness and strength, intimacy and spectacle. Using vintage objects and hand-crocheted forms, she transforms familiar items into vessels of memory and contradiction.
By wrapping objects in crochet—a gesture that both protects and reveals—she investigates what we choose to hide or expose, and how history leaves its trace. Her handmade process, slow and intentional, stands in quiet resistance to a culture of speed and disposability.
Her work is currently exhibited at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas, as part of the 5-month exhibition.

Sophie Inard is a French artist based in Paris.
Her work explores the intersections of gender, power, and identity, playing with the tensions between softness and strength, intimacy and staging. Using antique objects and hand-crocheted forms, she transforms familiar objects into receptacles of memory and contradictions.
Wrapping an object in mesh—a gesture that is both protective and revealing—becomes a way for her to question what we choose to hide or show, and how history is inscribed in the material. This slow, manual, and deliberately anachronistic process offers a silent resistance to the culture of speed and throwaways.
Nine of his works are currently on display at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas, as part of the exhibition.
