Merle Luhaäär-Avril is a multi-disciplinary experimental artist who currently lives and works in Estonia. Merle has graduated from Royal College of Art (London, UK) with an MA in Fine Arts in 2019 and prior to that she received her BA in Fine Arts from Kingston University London.
Her practice is underpinned by an interest in the relationships between individual and society, micro- and macrocosm and relativity of reality. These themes are explored through a variety of mediums: painting, print, photography, installation and sculpture, textile design, and moving image. Merle has exhibited her works in Dubai, Barcelona, London, Venice
Zurich, and Basel. This summer 2021 she presented a major solo art show Somnum Exterreri (Nightmare) in her hometown Tallinn (Estonia) and launched the first NFT of a physical artwork in Estonia. March 2022 Merle Luhaäär is participating as a solo artist at World Art Dubai.
