Presentation
Anna Muller is a Russian photographer and collage artist living in Paris.
She was born in 1981 in Izhevsk, Russia. She started taking pictures more than 9 years ago and studied at the Academy of Photographic Art in Moscow. In 2013, she obtained in Paris her European Master of Photography at the SPEOS Photographic Institute.
She lived and worked for 5 years in Tokyo, Japan where the rich traditions of Japanese culture contributed to the development of her self-discipline, attention to detail and responsiveness.
Color is his biggest inspiration. Anna sees, hears and feels everything through color. The latter being his poetry, his music and his passion.
As an artist Anna looks for different ways to express her ideas. She also understood that the art of collage and photography allowed her to go beyond real forms, thus discovering her sense of humor and her self-mockery.
The Double speak series:
"I chose to draw a visual parallel between the fashion industry and the art of collage. With collage, different images are borrowed from their original context to gain new visual meaning through their new surroundings. In this way, spontaneous combinations engender new and unexpected results, which challenge the way we traditionally view symbols that are familiar to us."
