Alix de Valois is a French artist, born in 1954. She graduated from Ecole des arts appliqués in Calais and completed her training in four major artist studios in Paris and St Cloud.
A portrait and abstract painter, Alix de Valois captures fragility and grace with extreme sensitivity. Through drawing and mastery on colors, she is able portray energy in her battle scenes. True passion shape up her works and the spectators can witness her vitality. As a background, history can be read under a new light, the one of great battles in European history. Philippe de Croix wrote about the artist:
"Alix de Valois uses iconography for her compositions but this is systematically addressed, mangled due to pictorial aspects. The stakes of representing these battles is to maintain them in a perfect balance, through figuration and abstraction, so that the character coexists in a precarious, flamboyant and risky manner, while painting freely".
Alix de Valois regularly exhibits in top notch galleries abroad, Germany, Belgium, Poland. Her works are also presented in fairs like the Autumn fair in Paris or the International fair in Touquet.
