Kai Braun

Born in Lüneburg in 1979. Was born with a white sheet of paper and a charcoal pencil. His mother and the doctors thought that was unusual. While the bystanders were still discussing it, Kai began to draw. And could not stop.

The relatives, who had rushed over to admire the strange child, tried to snatch his pencil from his fingers. Kai threw a tantrum. Epic. The adults sought the distance. Kai snorted contentedly. And kept drawing. Just on and on.

For his third birthday, his mother gave Kai a thick stack of sheets. By now, the wallpaper in the apartment looked very, very colorful. Kai plucked the bow from the stack and pawed thoughtfully at his knees. What followed, no one could have guessed.

Nothing, but nothing at all was safe from the boy's irrepressible creative power. Houses in the neighborhood got a new coat of paint. Objects of all kinds miraculously disappeared and became toys, collages and installations.
