Olena is a symbolist artist, participant of many international and Ukrainian painting exhibitions in art galleries and museums of Ukraine, CIS countries, Europe and America, winner of international competitions, participated in an art residency and exhibition held in parallel with the 57th and 58th Venice Biennale, art residencies in many European countries, including Andy Warhol Museum, Museum of Ukrainian Culture and Desideria Milla Art Gallery, Slovakia.
The painting "Apple" became a part of the collection of the Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidnik. Participant of the international historical art project "Painted Ribbon", where she presented her works in the bell tower of the Great Lavra, Sophia of Kyiv, the National Literary Museum of Ukraine, the Central House of the artist, the First Municipal Gallery of Ukraine and other museums and cultural centers of Kyiv.
The artist boldly experiments with painting techniques and styles, her works are bright and full of deep meaning, they speak about the deception of the visible, its hidden mystery that we usually do not notice, they raise questions about the very essence of being.
Olena Smal's paintings are in private collections in Ukraine, America and European countries. Olena has many years of experience working with people with dementia as an art therapist and memory coach.
