“Table in Garden" is a vivid contemporary still-life painting by French artist Natalya Mougenot, part of her ongoing series dedicated to floral compositions and intimate domestic scenes. This artwork is ideal for collectors seeking expressive, uplifting pieces that radiate joy, warmth, and emotional vitality. With its bold palette, gestural brushwork, and immersive energy, the painting brings a powerful sense of life into any interior — making it a striking choice for anyone looking to invest in authentic, emotionally resonant contemporary art.
In this piece, Natalya composes two vases overflowing with flowers, their lush bouquets bursting in tones of rose, tangerine, lilac, and warm cream. Between them rests a plate filled with bright yellow lemons, painted with swirling strokes of orange and white that make them appear almost sunlit. The canvas vibrates with saturated blues, greens, yellows, and pinks, creating a harmonious yet electrifying dialogue of color. Her brushstrokes are spontaneous, textured, and deliberately imperfect — leaving visible traces of movement, intuition, and emotion. While the composition carries echoes of Van Gogh's emotional vibrancy, Cézanne's understanding of form, and Matisse's celebration of color, the work is unmistakably Natalya's own. As she explains: “I admire these masters deeply, but I don't paint to imitate them. I paint to listen to my own energy, to what wants to emerge in the moment."
Her work shares with these great painters a commitment to honesty, boldness, and an emotional truth that transcends realism. Yet Natalya's artistic voice diverges in its intuitive spontaneity, its modern sensibility, and its metamodern emotional register. She works without strict plans or preliminary sketches, allowing each brushstroke to lead naturally to the next. “I paint before I think," she says. “If I plan too much, the painting loses its soul." This freedom gives her canvases a breathing, organic vitality — the sense that they were painted with the whole body, not merely with technique.
Authenticity lies at the core of Natalya's practice. Her paintings are guided by impulse, feeling, and an honest internal rhythm rather than intellectual strategy. She emphasizes:
“Being authentic in expressing myself is crucially important. People feel immediately if something was created from a true impulse and from the heart — or only from the mind. People sense what is right or wrong, what is alive or artificial. Authenticity is the only way art can truly connect."
This belief shapes her refusal to over-polish or refine away the life of a painting. The raw edges, the visible strokes, the brisk gestures are all deliberate — preserving the sincerity of the moment of creation. “Authenticity is my compass. The moment I try to 'please' or 'decorate,' the painting dies."
Color, too, carries deep psychological resonance in her work. Bright colors are not decorative for Natalya: they are emotional transmitters. “Color is a language," she notes. “It's how I transmit energy. I want the viewer to feel uplifted, strengthened — almost embraced." Her vivid palette reflects her intention to have a positive impact on others; through color, she aims to infuse the viewer with vitality, optimism, and emotional warmth.
In her ongoing still-life and floral series, Natalya explores the quiet yet powerful poetry of everyday objects. She transforms simple moments — two vases of blooming flowers, a dish of lemons, a garden table — into celebrations of life, movement, and chromatic emotion.
“I paint these scenes because they are universal," she explains. “A table in a garden is something everyone can understand, but through color and gesture I try to show the invisible — the feeling of being alive.

Presentation
Natalya is a contemporary french artist living in Lyon.
She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes.
She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country.
She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now.
In her artistic practice she refers to the terms of metamodernism, which proposes to look at the world from the position of the inner adult.
As an artist and as a woman she translates the experience of her personal search for balance based on harmony between mind, soul and body. This balance, in her opinion, is the pillar for the inner adult.
Important components of her work are authenticity, soulfulness, sincerity, emotionality and honesty. She immerses the objects and the characters in the world where there is no falsity, rudeness, loneliness and indifference.
She works rapidly and is constantly sensitive to the details.
Her artistic process is a fine balance between a pre-meditation and spontantainty which helps her to create her expressive atmospheric artworks with a modern touch of impressionism by cultivating a naive art approach.
