Diane Fournier

Artist Statement:

Self-taught painter, I draw my creative inspiration from my travels, from life and its fragility, its upheavals, both physical and emotional, as well as the resilience of human beings.

I enter my studio without any specific intention, I create space so a dialogue can begin between the colors and the shapes that I apply with a brush, a knife or any tool that will give the result that I want until a story emerges. I use acrylic or mixed media which allows all the flexibility I need to bring my canvas to life which I finalize by adding lines to give it its signature, my signature.

In order to nourish and push my exploration further, I attended painting, engraving and sculpture workshops with professional artists. After a fulfilling career, I devote myself entirely to my art since 2012. 

My abstract and semi-abstract paintings offer bright, vibrant universes that seek to be carriers of hope. 

Through this authentic experience, my dearest wish is to touch the soul of the viewer.
