Description
Abstraction is expressed here through a rigorous layering game. A red mass dominates the composition. It asserts itself through its density and central presence. Translucent bands come to fragment this surface. They create zones of light and transparency.
A dialogue is established between the saturation of the pigment and the lightness of the paper. The contrast is accentuated by a deep blue base. This foundation stabilizes the entire structure. A small blue rectangle punctuates the red block. It creates a precise visual anchor point.
The technique of pencil and collage brings a tactile dimension. Each layer adds depth to the visual narrative. The balance rests on the opposition between solid shapes and empty spaces. The pure white background emphasizes the sharpness of the contours. This piece from 2011 explores matter and geometry. It is composed of primary hues and opaque surfaces.
Presentation
Represented by the gallery since 2004, Karin Boinet is an artist in constant evolution.
A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, this printmaking specialist paints obsessively every day.
Rich in color and texture, her works are veritable narratives.
Painting, India ink, collage, walnut stain... She transcribes her emotions, regularly creating thought-provoking series.
With her, we enter the heart of the city and sometimes, we soar above it. The urban environment is a recurring theme for the artist. Her abstract work is also remarkably rich, exploring the depths of color through the manipulation of pigment.
Karin Boinet also expresses herself as a photographer in series where she celebrates major cities, their architecture, and natural landscapes. Since 2018, the artist has been exploring the possibilities offered by drawing again, notably in a series of spontaneous sketches made in Paris and Cap-Ferret.
