Description
The painting before us is an explosion of vibrant, dynamic colours, using sharp outlines and stylised shapes to capture the essence of a powerful musical moment. The opus features a central character, clearly a singer, sporting a distinctive dark brown hairdo. His face is turned back, eyes closed, indicating total immersion in the music. He holds a bright pink instrument, the curves and lines of which are simplified to emphasise energy and emotion rather than realism. The background is a gradient of green, providing depth and contrasting perfectly with the singer's blue jacket. In the upper right, a yellow star and a pink musical note float, symbolising talent and creativity. A purple microphone, similar to those from the 50s, stands on the right, reinforcing the retro atmosphere and the character's passion for musical performance. Furthermore, a green heart is discreetly positioned on the left, expressing the singer's love and devotion to his art. The artistic choices, ranging from saturated colors to deliberately simplified shapes, create a composition that is both modern and timeless. This work does not simply represent a singer in action, it dialogues with the viewer, inviting them to feel the joy and intensity of the music. With its bold and expressive style, this painting is a vibrant ode to musical passion and the art of performance.
Presentation
Gilles Alliaume, Painter, Paris
Self-taught artist.
By leading workshops around art and creating exhibitions with the children from 2005 to 2010, I explore various artistic techniques and methods. Passionate about graphic design, drawing and painting, I particularly like naive art or pop art.
I work on different media, paper, canvas, canvas or wood. I use acrylic and gouache.
Artists such as Nikki de St Phalle, Keith Haring, Frida Kahlo, Van Gogh, Magritte, Dali, Turner or even Hockney and Hopper, with colorful and sometimes absurd and tormented universes fascinate me.
In 2019, I am undertaking a first series "acid daydreams" and an exhibition of "flowers of desolation".
