Description
Dobr 879
The Oil painting on Cardboard titled “Urban landscape with park" captures the delicate and poetic intersection between the natural and the man-made, portraying a moment of calm within the rhythm of city life. The scene unfolds with a composition that balances the geometric regularity of urban buildings and the organic presence of trees and pathways in a park. This contrast becomes the heart of the painting, not one of tension, but of harmony, where the human-built world and nature coexist in a shared space of light, color, and atmosphere. At the forefront, a series of bare trees stretch upwards with bold, dark lines. Their trunks and branches, painted with a decisive hand, cut across the background of muted yet luminous apartment blocks. The absence of leaves suggests an early spring or late autumn setting, a transitional time of year when the earth is either waking from dormancy or preparing for its quiet rest. The branches rise like intricate calligraphy against the softer sky, creating a web that draws the viewer's eye upwards and connects the foreground to the distance. The painter's brushstrokes here are expressive, emphasizing form and rhythm over detail, highlighting the way trees both frame and interrupt the urban grid. The park itself is alive with color. Bright swathes of green stretch across the lower portion of the canvas, mingled with lively accents of pink, orange, and ochre. These bold tones breathe warmth and energy into the scene, as if the ground itself is suffused with the glow of sunlight. The greens are not uniform but varied — shifting between sharp, luminous patches and deeper, earthier shades, suggesting the play of light filtering through branches, casting shadows, and illuminating open patches of grass. The pathways, suggested through angled strokes of rose, peach, and violet, give the composition depth, drawing the viewer along the winding lines into the scene. In the background, the architecture emerges in flat planes of warm yellow ochre, punctuated by rhythmic rows of windows painted in muted white and grey. These buildings, rendered simply, provide a strong contrast to the vibrancy of the park. Their steady geometry anchors the painting, offering a sense of order and permanence. Yet, rather than appearing oppressive, they seem softened by the interplay of light and the surrounding natural forms.
