Description
This bold artwork presents a vibrant tropical landscape where chaos and fascination meet in perfect harmony. At its center, a vintage blue vehicle evokes a spirit of adventure, framed by lush palm trees and exotic leaves. The geometric shapes of the windows and intriguing patterns captivate the eye. Touches of bold color, including deep green and vibrant yellow, create a striking contrast with the vehicle's soothing blue. Decorative elements, such as cans and bottles, infuse the scene with a relaxed and carefree atmosphere. The artist's expressive and dynamic strokes add subtle movement, making the scene almost come alive. This artwork reflects a perfect blend of energy and serenity, taking the viewer on a captivating and unforgettable visual journey.
Presentation
Alec Cumming graduated in 2007 from Norwich University of the Arts with a degree in Fine Art. He has enjoyed success with a number of major solo shows in London, throughout the UK and abroad. The artist works between studios in Norwich and Delhi.
In 2012, he was the youngest artist to have a solo exhibition with the British Council in India. At the India Art Fair 2016, he was selected as 'the one to watch' by the art critics alongside G R Iranna and Francesco Clemente. In 2017, Alec was selected for a Arts Council funded Residency with Dyad Creative in conjunction with Museums in India and the UK; in this space he made his monumental painting project 'Dialogues with India', a series of 4m long mural works considering material memory. In 2018, Alec will be showcasing some of this work in LA. Alec's work is held in private, public and corporate collections world-wide.
