Description
This evocative work captures two small boats on a calm stretch of water, beneath a clear blue sky. The figures on board, dressed in bright colors such as orange caps, are sketched with expressive brushstrokes typical of Drouet's style. The reflections on the water's surface, rendered with flat areas of color and fluid lines, reinforce the impression of serenity and subtle movement.
The artist plays with the contrasts between the geometric shapes of the boats and the organic lines of the waves, while incorporating poetic elements such as birds in flight. The palette of blues, whites, and warm accents creates visual harmony, evoking both the lightness and the depth of the seascape.
Here, Jean-Marie Drouet transforms a simple scene into a composition rich in emotion, where nature and humanity coexist in harmony.
Presentation
Born in 1961 Jean Marie Drouet is graduated from the Fine Arts School of Angoulême. He likes drawing and making lot of photos before beginning a painting. He is inspired by contemporary photography and film culture that gives him an optimistic look on the world.
Referring to the American realistic painters such as N.C Wyeth or Edward Hopper, life’s scenes and characters are his favorite subjects. He is also fascinated by strong light contrasts and minimalistic settings. Sunlight is everywhere in Jean Marie Drouet paintings showing us the beautiful side of life.; his painting is quiet and bright aiming the beauty of the present time.
