Description
This diptych presents a rigorous exploration of geometry and light. The artist merges mathematical precision with a poetic sensibility. Golden tones dominate the composition. They evoke a sense of timelessness and sacredness. Each panel functions as a conceptual landscape. The horizon is reimagined as a limit between the physical and the metaphysical.
Linear patterns create an optical vibration across the surface. These rhythmic repetitions suggest musical scores or physical frequencies. The interplay of light and shadow generates a three-dimensional depth. This architectural approach transforms the canvas into a meditative space.
The artwork reflects on the bond between human perception and the surrounding environment. It balances a postmodern aesthetic with immemorial references. The contrast between the luminous gold and the deep black borders enhances the intensity of the central forms. Every line is deliberate. The result is a reflexive study of destiny and order. The composition concludes with a series of precise horizontal striations.
Ryōan-ji is the Japanese Zen temple in Kyoto, a monastery that gave rise to the idea of the purely abstract Zen garden that inspired this series Francisco Larios' works are done by hand with hundreds of layers of gold leaf. The artist's goal is to allow the work to age along with the collector, which is why some works will appear unbalanced in color. Parts of the work will have different tones, burnish spots, or small, soft cracks. Francisco Larios use postmodern influences are recognized by simplified forms, lines and sacred geometry. Larios' production is not an uncritical quotation or appropriation of the themes that interest him, being a poetic exploration of the state of our relationships with faith, will and destiny.

Presentation
Francisco Larios practices painting, open-concept drawing, and the use of software to create two and three-dimensional visual environments. In his imaginary, the postmodern condition is achieved in terms that contemporary culture is the starting point for the elaboration of sceneries that manifest the return to sacred references, philosophical themes, and immemorial fabulations.
In Larios' work, landscape is treated conceptually, sometimes, as space where studies of the dreamlike, the bond between human beings and their surroundings, and the nature of objects develop; in other cases as the practice of graphic representation of mathematical, physical and musical principles which part from the idea of the horizon as divisive line and as a limit.
Larios production is a poetic, ironic, and reflexive exploration of the state of our relationship with faith, will, and destiny.
