Description
A solar silhouette dominates the center of this composition. A woman with tanned skin poses elegantly against an ochre wall. Her gaze wanders towards the horizon, evoking a deep serenity. She wears a flowing white dress whose fabric seems light, almost airy. A straw hat completes her summer outfit.
The artist plays with the light to sculpt the volumes of the body and the folds of the garment. The contrast is marked between the clarity of the fabric and the warmth of the earthy tones. In the background, the intense blue of the sea and the relief of a cliff suggest a Mediterranean landscape.
Some touches of pink bring freshness through falling flowers and a small potted shrub. This oil painting captures the essence of a summer afternoon. Every detail, from the gold earrings to the texture of the wall, reinforces the impression of calm. The balance between the realism of the portrait and the softness of the setting creates a contemplative atmosphere. The painting ends with the precise rendering of the sand and stone under the daylight.
Presentation
Natali, whose full name is Nathalie Dervaux Pouliquen, is a French painter based in the south of France, whose pictorial universe explores the depth of human emotions through portraiture.
A passionate self-taught artist, she has developed a unique artistic style centered on light, skin, and the gaze. Her works, often created in oil, capture suspended moments where the sun is not shown, but felt — a visual signature that has become emblematic of her work.
Through expressive female portraits, sometimes monochrome, sometimes bathed in warm and vibrant colors, Natali seeks to reveal the invisible: a contained emotion, an inner strength, a memory. Her work plays on the contrasts between shadow and light, softness and intensity, realism and suggestion.
Blending aesthetics and humanitarian awareness, she inscribes her art in a desire for transmission, empathy and sharing.
Today, Natali is developing a strong artistic identity around coherent and symbolic collections, while exploring new decorative and narrative mediums. Her ambition is to create art that is sensitive, accessible, and meaningful, capable of reaching a wide audience.
"When light caresses the skin, emotion becomes eternal."
