Description

belongs to my series Smear Table and is based on the idea of a quick pictorial response. An arbitrary question is asked – and the image reacts almost immediately to it.

Turquoise, green, violet, orange, and light yellow tones form a vertical structure in which the colors overlap, mix, and mutually change. A darker area runs through the center of the image, while the outer zones remain lighter and more open. Despite the many transitions, the impression of an order emerges, as if the individual color streaks follow a common system.

Yet this very apparent logic is part of the thought behind the work. An answer can appear clearly structured, complex, and convincing, without necessarily being correct. Plausibility and truth are not the same.

The image is created very quickly, but not randomly. Decisions follow one after another; some remain, others are corrected or overlaid. The traces of this process are not cleaned up, but remain part of the answer.

it is thus a visual answer that presents itself with self-confidence, even though its logic is not verifiable. What initially appears as order simultaneously contains uncertainty, contradiction, and openness.

Presentation

Born in Bad Segeberg, my life's journey has taken me to vibrant locales such as Brazil, Spain, and the USA. I pursued my passion for art at the prestigious Falmouth School of Art and Design in England and complemented this with a diploma in Geography from Marburg University.

Since 1997, I have had the privilege of showcasing my work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in cultural hubs like Antwerp, Berlin, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and Mainz. My artistic journey also involves organizing workshops focused on experimental and expressive painting, sharing my techniques and vision with fellow art enthusiasts.

From 2007 to 2014, I operated a production gallery in Mainz, fostering a creative community. Since 2014, I have been based at my studio in Langendellschlag 62, Wiesbaden, where my creative ideas come to life. In 2021, I expanded my artistic reach by opening "ARTLET," a dedicated art outlet in the heart of the city, making my work more accessible to a broader audience.

My diverse experiences and passion for art continue to drive my creativity, allowing me to inspire and be inspired in return.
