Description
Every family carries a story that began long before the youngest voice was heard. The elder bears the wisdom of lived years. The parent stands between memory and responsibility. The child reaches toward a future still unwritten.
Together, they remind us that who we are is shaped by those before us, and what we choose today becomes the inheritance of those who come after. This work reflects the quiet bond between generations, where legacy is not only remembered, but carried forward.
Presentation
Fadahunsi Akintomiwa Joseph, also known as Orthodox Arts, is a contemporary Nigerian visual artist and painter born in 2001.
At the heart of the artist’s practice is a commitment to Black Art, specifically an exploration of individuality in Black identity through the use of stripes. Working from a studio in Nigeria, the artist uses bold vertical lines as a signature visual element to represent cadence, structure, and the unique rhythms of Black life.
For the artist, Black Art is not merely an aesthetic choice. It is a vital vehicle for celebrating human dignity, cultural heritage, and personal expression.
