Christian Goetghebeur is a French photographer whose work explores the metamorphoses of the visible through a personal photographic writing, Sublimations.
Starting from photographs rooted in reality, he develops a plastic research where color and light become materials in themselves. Architectures, urban spaces, and human presences constitute the main territories of his exploration. Through chromatic transformations and plays of perception, he brings forth new relationships between forms, volumes, and figures, inviting us to shift our gaze.
His work unfolds notably between France, Morocco, and Guadeloupe, territories where he explores the architectural, human, and cultural singularities.
Since 2022, his photographs have been the subject of several personal exhibitions, notably in Tangier, Casablanca, Marseille, Paris, and Guadeloupe. He has also participated in collective exhibitions in Paris, Luxembourg, and Rabat, notably at the Autumn Salon, at Art Capital at the Grand Palais, and at the German Embassy in Paris.
His works are featured in several public and private collections, including those of the Musée de la Légation Américaine in Tangier, the Bachelot Collection, the city of Pointe-à-Pitre, and the city of Basse-Terre.
