Description
This artwork is a vibrant and bold poster titled Paris City Graffiti, capturing the raw and dynamic essence of urban life in Paris. Created primarily with green inks on a white background, the poster stands out for its inventive and energetic use of graffiti motifs. At the center of the poster, the imposing and robust characters of Graffiti and Kency dominate the space, their typographic style evoking spontaneity and a flawless mastery of graffiti art. The word Paris at the top is surrounded by various other inscriptions and drawings, creating a dense and captivating visual tapestry. These features are emblematic of underground and urban culture, reaffirming Paris as an iconic metropolis of street art. On the left, a stylized drawing of a Parisian metro reinforces the idea of the city in perpetual motion and the creativity that permeates it day and night. This image of the metro, a symbol of everyday Parisian life, is beautifully integrated in a traditional graffiti style, establishing a dynamic contrast between the static and the mobile. On the right, a cartoon character, possibly an urban figure or a classic tagger, adds a narrative dimension to the piece. This character seems to be checking his surroundings, ready to leave his mark on the spaces around him. At the bottom of the poster, the word Vandale is bold and unmistakable, reminding viewers that graffiti, though often seen as an act of rebellion or destruction, is above all a daring and unconventional form of artistic expression. In sum, this work is a vibrant tribute to Parisian graffiti culture. The choice of colors, exuberant shapes, and urban motifs establish a powerful connection between art, the city, and its inhabitants. It is a piece that celebrates the anarchic vitality and energy of Paris street art, immortalizing the constant interaction between the artist and the metropolis.
Presentation
Born in 1988 in Paris, Keny is a young passionate artist and actor of underground culture. Interested from an early age in the arts, especially those practiced in the street, he decided to devote his free time to the practice of urban painting. Like any self-respecting graffiti artist, Keny's first creations are made on walls and trains. Gradually his style evolves and his artistic practice turns to new media and new formats to approach more “conventional" things. But Keny is not a conventional artist and he claims it; he works on a wide variety of media ranging from traditional canvas to cardboard, including recycled materials or aluminum plates.
