Description
A serene exploration of form. This wall sculpture plays with light and relief to create a suspended movement.
The minimalist approach is expressed here through an organic composition. The curve, a central element of the artist's plastic research, guides the gaze softly.
The choice of materials combines the nobility of marble with the precision of resin. This mixture allows for a smooth, almost liquid finish, where the surfaces interlace fluidly.
The dominant white accentuates the purity of the gesture. The play of shadows reveals rounded volumes that seem to breathe on the support.
This piece invites immediate calm. It transforms the space into a place of quiet contemplation, far from agitation.
The technical execution attests to precise craftsmanship, a heritage from expertise in industrial design and cabinetmaking.
The work, created in 2025, is part of a research into universal consciousness and pure sensation.
The whole is presented in a white rectangular frame that contains and emphasizes the sculptural momentum of the base of the composition.
Presentation
Born in 1970, Gaël Rouxeville is the artist of the Living Curve. His work, disseminated in France and internationally, has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions, publications, and has been included in private and public collections (notably that of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia).
Drawing on expertise in industrial design and cabinetmaking, and committed to an eco-responsible approach, his creative process engages memory, the unconscious, and the imagination. For 30 years, he has explored the possibilities of the "Living Curve," a source of inspiration, an expressive language, and the guiding thread of his work. The numerous media, materials, and themes he explores are never an end in themselves, but rather a means of approaching and experiencing a universal consciousness.
His work results in a world of organic, “living" forms, figurative or not; forms that are simple in appearance and open to interpretation, engaging the viewer's memories and imagination. Gaël Rouxeville's art is less intellectual than sensual. It's an invitation to let go, to welcome, to stop searching... Like these curves that stretch and relax, it suddenly seems that time is elongating. The boundaries that appeared so clear become blurred, shifting... The mind then floats, as if levitating; a dance of space and time!
